November Stitch Fix Review 2015

It’s Fix Day! My November Fix arrived and I’m so excited! I’m excited because cool weather hit in Pennsylvania and my Fall/Winter wardrobe needed some help – I couldn’t wait to see what I got πŸ™‚

I’ve been using Stitch Fix almost exclusively to build my wardrobe and it’s been such a blast. What’s not to love about a surprise box showing up at your doorstep filled with amazing (& affordable!) goodies picked out just for you by a professional stylist?!  It’s been well over a year since I signed up for Stitch Fix, so it’s safe to say that I’m a huge fan of this service.

Thanks to Stitch Fix and Dressing Your Truth (a fashion and personal development program that I can’t shut up about – it’s changed my life!), I’ve managed to step out of my fashion comfort zone, learned what styles and colors look the best on me and and I learned what it takes to put a great outfit together that totally expresses me. It’s been so fun!!

What is Stitch Fix?

If you’ve never heard of Stitch fix, let me tell you! With Stitch Fix, you get a surprise box complete with 5 handpicked clothing and/or accessories picked out just for you from your very own personal stylist (how cool is that?!).  You get to keep only what you want (for me it has to be a 10 out of 10!) and you can send back whatever you don’t want in the postage paid envelope. You can schedule a Fix whenever you want – no monthly commitments or anything like that.  For those wondering about the cost, it is affordable. The clothes are definitely more expensive than Target, but about equal to what you would expect at a department store.

My November 2015 Fix

Let’s take a look what I got!

Just Black Dean Skinny Jean

Liverpool Denim Jacket

November Stitch Fix Review 2015 - Dressing Your Truth Type 1

I’ve said it over and over – I don’t know how Stitch Fix always manages to send the most perfect fitting denim ever. They must have little elves that take all my measurements while I’m sleeping! Seriously! How do they do it?! Anyway, the Just Black jeans fit like a glove, are super soft and in a color I’m obsessed with. Keeping these are a no brainer!

November Stitch Fix Review 2015 - Liverpool Jalie Denim Jacket - Dressing Your Truth Type 1

The Liverpool Jalie Denim jacket got sent back and I think I’m already regretting it. Because it’s super cute, right? And it fits like a glove. AND it would be a perfect staple piece for Fall. But I’m just not a jean jacket girl. I want to like jean jackets and have bought a few in the past. But they always go unworn!  I think it’s because they are a little too heavy and restrictive for my liking. You’ll hardly ever catch me wearing a coat, even in the dead of winter because I hate feeling restricted. At 35 years old, I still get yelled at by my grandmother for not wearing a coat in the winter! πŸ™‚ Anyone else like that, too?

VERDICT: Kept the jeans, sent back the jean jacket.

Crescent Weaver Overlay Top

November Stitch Fix Review 2015 - Collective Concepts - Weaver Lace Overlay Top - Dressing Your Truth Type 1

The Crescent Weaver Lace Overlay top was the first item that caught my eye because it’s totally prefect for me. I LOVE that color. And hello gorgeous lace. And a scalloped sleeves and hem, too?! Oh perfection! I thought for sure I was going to keep it, but then I tried it on. The sleeve length felt really awkward and bothered me.  And since the sleeve hem was loose, I couldn’t push my sleeves up (I’m weird about stuff like that – I have to be able to push my sleeves up). I hated to send this back, but if I was feeling uncomfortable in it, I knew it wasn’t going to work out. Bummer!

VERDICT: Sent back.

Collective Concepts Wilson Tie-Neck Top

November Stitch Fix Review 2015 - Collective Concepts Wilson Tie-Neck Top

My first impression of this top was that I liked it, but not for me. I have a clear style and know what I like quickly. But I made the mistake of making my decision too quickly, even before trying it on. You should always try stuff on before you form an opinion – lesson learned!!

My husband doesn’t really share his opinion about my clothes unless something is terrible or exceptionally nice. When I put this shirt on, he commented. To my surprise he said he really liked it. I looked in the mirror and thought, wow, this is really nice and I do feel great in it. I thought the orange would be a great color choice for Fall and I loved it paired with skinny jeans from last November’s Fix and my Fall boots. One of the reasons I love Stitch Fix is that I get to try things that I normally wouldn’t pick out in a store and this shirt is one of those items πŸ™‚ Thanks to my stylist, Kallie for sending it!

VERDICT: Kept!

Collective Concepts Lydia Keyhole Blouse

November Stitch Fix Review 2015 Daniel Rainn Lanette Knit Back Silk Blouse - Dressing Your Truth Type 1

This Collective Concepts Blouse is super cute and I love all the colors, but I felt matronly in it – I think it’s the cut?

VERDICT: Returned

Agree with your choices. The jean jacket was adorable, but if you are not comfortable in something you shouldn’t keep it. It’s funny, I have two that are total staples in my wardrobe. Since high school I have always had at least one that I wear regularly (and I’m 49 now!). I’m amazed that they always find jeans that are a perfect fit for you. The service is worth it just for that!
